Brian has recently become our supervisor at our Wellsville station. We are very excited to see how he shapes our training and leadership out in Wellsville. When looking for a representative in the area to oversee staff and help E5 make more connections with other agencies nearby, Brian was top of mind. “One thing I like is [being involved in] communications. I love to talk and network with people,” says Brian. Brian has been involved in the world of EMS for several years. He started as an EMT and worked his way up to Paramedic and eventually to a supervisor role in Allegany County, NY where he worked for 5 years. After his time in Allegany County, Brian transfers to Great Valley as a Staff Medic and then is promoted to a supervisor role. Eventually, Brian decides to take an available part-time position at the Wellsville station to be closer to home. Once the full time position opened up, Brian had no hesitations joining the team. “Going forward, I aligned with Mountain Lakes to instruct ACLS, PALS, and CPR courses in this region. I now handle the stuff that needs to be ‘face to face.’ I attend board meetings for the local squad and act as an on-site resource for them,” Brian tells us; “I’d love to help E5 get involved with more agencies in this area. I’m happy to have my boots on the ground here to help with that.” We are thrilled to have Brian on our team and can’t wait to see what he does at E5!

We are thrilled to welcome Jordan to our team! She tells us, “I joined my local volunteer agency 10 years ago as a junior member when I was 16. From there, I volunteered as an attendant/driver. I received my EMT-B 4 years ago. I really enjoy being there to help others when they need it. I come from a long line of first responders so helping people is just kind of in our blood! I am very excited to be joining your team. Everyone I have spoken with has just been so sweet and so welcoming!” We feel the same way to get to greet new team members like you, Jordan. “I never intended on ever even getting into EMS” says new employee Douglas B. “At the beginning of my freshman year of college at RPI, they held an activity fair. After choosing nine other groups I might be interested in, just for a joke I selected the student run campus based ambulance service. They were the only group who called me, and they wouldn’t take no for an answer.” Now an EMT for more than 30 years, and a paramedic since 1990, he has worked and volunteered for a variety of agencies, to include public, private, and non-profit. During his time in EMS he has been a Board member, ALS Coordinator, Lieutenant, and committee member, and currently serves as a state registered narcotic agent and Chairman of the Board for one organization, while also being a member of a local town Emergency Service Advisory Board. EMS has also taken him around the world – he worked for almost five years as a paramedic in the Middle East, including time spent with the personal medical team of a high ranking prince, and having been the manager of the 50+ person multinational EMS department for a regional foreign military hospital. After returning to the United States, he spent over 10 years working as an expanded scope remote paramedic on both shallow and deepwater drilling rigs for the oil and gas industry, mostly in the Gulf of Mexico, but also having made the trek to the North Sea. Off duty, he enjoys pursuits as diverse as reading and computer games, to motorcycling, foreign travel, and the shooting sports. “I’ve come to E-5 to be part of a growing company, and for the ability to be able to work with a variety of different organizations.”

We are THRILLED to officially introduce Lee Burns as part of our E5 Support Services, LLC team! Lee got hooked on EMS and joined the local volunteer ambulance service as a high school student.

Once at college, she became an EMT and joined the volunteer ambulance service in Saratoga Springs, NY. Lee served in many rolls as an EMT, paramedic, member of the Board of Directors, squad captain, operations manager as well as the agency’s advanced life support coordinator throughout 30+ years.

She has been involved in prehospital care and EMS education since the early 1980’s, a paramedic since 1985 and now an EMT again!

Lee recently retired from the New York State Department of Health’s Bureau of EMS director position. During her long tenure with the Department of Health, she was the Deputy Director for the Operations Unit and the regional EMS representative for the 17 counties in northeastern NY.

Lee is a certified instructor coordinator in county, regional and state EMS education programs, a speaker at national, state and regional EMS conferences and is currently an EMT with a vibrant ambulance service in Saratoga County.

Lee is a skiing member of the National Ski Patrol and serves as the patrol director for a small ski area in northeastern NY. In the few minutes of off time, Lee pays mortgage for two Labrador retrievers, skis, snowshoes, bicycles, motorcycles and camps.

With an impressive resume and a woman of many hats, we are excited to see what the E5 future has to offer Lee!

Emily is a new member to our E5 team who started her career through Massena Rescue. “I’ve been a volunteer EMT at Massena Rescue for a little over 2 years now,” says Emily. Coming to our team with training and experience fresh on her mind is a great way to continue her career at our company. Thanks for choosing E5, Emily!

We are excited to welcome Sarah to our crew at E5! “I am currently a college student at SUNY Potsdam working on my BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry and have been working and volunteering in EMS for a little over 3 years now. What led me to E5 was my desire to continue working for ambulance services while I am in school, as I plan to move further into medicine after my undergraduate work and I genuinely enjoy the job. Living in the Glens Falls area and going to school in Potsdam provided the perfect position for me to work on two ends of the areas that E5 staffs with. In addition, I also have friends that work for E5 that have spoken highly of the company. These factors combined led to me applying to work at E5. I greatly look forward to further expanding my knowledge and practicing my skills with E5 across the Mountain Lakes and North Country regions,” says Sarah. We couldn’t be more excited to bring on a team member who is well versed in a few of our E5 coverage areas. Thanks for joining us at E5, Sarah!

Alexis has been a volunteer firefighter for 5 years, as well as a volunteer for the Coxsackie Ambulance for 5 years. She plans to attend paramedic school in January, with a big goal of becoming a Medflight Paramedic. Recently, Alexis says “I was told by a coworker to fill out an application for E5, so I did...I am beyond excited to keep expanding my knowledge and become a part of a great team.

"I joined Wellsville ambulance while in high school," says Rolland. "This provided my start in EMS. I then became a EMT in June of 1993. I went to work for Medical Transport Service as a entry level provider. In 1996 I graduated from Corning Community College and the Arnot Ogden Medical Center as a paramedic. I continued working for MTS obtaining a administration position where we began as a team to provide fly car service to allegany county. I also coordinated training as well as other administration responsibilities. About 3 years ago, a new opportunity presented itself at Greater Valley EMS in Sayre, PA where I currently work full time. I have observed that E5 has provided the volunteers with a viable staffing solution and an opportunity to once again serve my home community. I look forward to the chance to once again provide paramedic level service to my home town."

After a career in the IT industry, Steve decided to pursue EMS. Emergency Services was something that always interested him, but he had never found the time to pursue with other things in his life competing for time. Steve became an EMT earlier this year when he discovered there was a need for help at his local Schroon Lake Squad and joined as a volunteer. He says, “I met a great group of E5 folks here and they encouraged me to join the new mentee program which I started late last month.”

Arianna was at college when she started working as a first responder on the campus. She soon developed a love for the medical field. After this realization, she came home to get her EMT certification 3 years ago from Schenectady County Community College. Since then, she has continued to be an EMT volunteer. Just recently, Arianna started working as a paid EMT and is currently going to college to get her associates degree in applied sciences/paramedic at SUNY Cobleskill. Her goal is to be a NICU nurse with an end goal of neonatal dr. As a single mom with a crazy energetic little girl at home, she loves teaching new EMTs and loves sharing her passion with others. “I have been involved with EMS for about 6 years and have been a Paramedic for almost 2 years. In high school I was kind of an adrenaline junkie and thought emergency services would be a really fun field to get into. Although I am definitely less adventurous now, I still find working in EMS very exciting and love that each call is different. Currently, I am a senior at UAlbany studying Computer Science with a focus in Programming. I have always heard positive remarks regarding all agencies associated with E5 and felt it would be a good fit for me. I am excited to explore the opportunities E5 provides. Everyone has been very kind and welcoming, offering support in any way they can.” Keep pursuing your dreams, Kacie. We look forward to furthering your EMS career at E5.

A father of 3, ages 17, 13 and 8 months old. He and his wife, Jen, have been married since 2004. Ric is a fulltime firefighter for the Glens Falls Fire Department as well as an assistant coach at Glens Falls schools for the football team and girls’ basketball team. Ric says, “I came to E5 for another opportunity to serve my community."

Jared Anthony has recently joined our E5 team. We are excited to have him!

Don Wildermuth has been with the E5 team for 3 years and does a lot behind the scenes. “When I started, it was strictly payroll,” says Don. He was responsible for submitting hours worked by all employees over to the payroll company.

This year, Don also handles all of our bookkeeping. He’s always around to lend a helping hand when employees have questions on deductions, changes within payroll and more.

Don says he enjoys working for E5 because he is able to “serve employees who are doing such important work. [Working at E5] allows me to contribute to an agency whose employees are LITERALLY saving lives.”

Don feels that if he’s able to do anything to help make employment at E5 better each day, then he is happy to help…

And we are proud to have him!

Emily Vilmar is born and raised in Glens falls. She has been in EMS for about 11 years now and currently in the paramedic program through Elizabethtown. She is ecstatic to advance her knowledge and career with this new opportunity at E5.

In Emily's spare time, she likes to kayak on Lake George, travel to the ocean in Maine with her mother, spend time with her dogs, and tinker and offroad with her beloved Jeep Wrangler.

Emily says, "summed up, I’m an adrenaline junkie with an addiction to Starbucks and puppy lovins!"

Nicholas is currently a full time student at Hudson Valley Community College, part time Air National Guard Flight Medic in Schenectady, and now part of our E5 team. “I figured working in EMS would be a perfect job for a student and I thought E5 would be a great opportunity,” says Lanci. Ethan Dunlap is a combat medic with the 153rd military police company in Delaware. He is moving up to Saratoga county to be closer to family. “I joined E5 because of how active I’ve seen you all be and the good reviews I read about your company,” says Dunlap. He also mentioned to us that he wanted to do more in the community and E5 would be the best fit in the long run. Dunlap says he is very excited to start working and can’t wait to meet everyone. The feeling is mutual!

Kristen grew up in St. Regis Falls, attended SUNY Potsdam for her bachelors and masters degree, and now lives in Morristown with her 3 boys. Kristen is also currently a volunteer at Ogdensburg Rescue squad and a full time teacher at Morristown Central School where she teaches Physics, Earth Science and Grade 7 Science. She says she is very excited to be part of the E5 team and we couldn’t agree more!

Alex is currently a college student in Albany studying Biomedical Microbiology and is planning to go to medical school in the future. In his free time he enjoys volunteering in the community as an EMT and hiking the Adirondack High Peaks.

When we asked Brittany to tell us a bit about why she joined E5, she said “everyone has been so welcoming!” Brittany is 26 years old and has been in emergency services for 3 years. Currently, she is a volunteer as a firefighter with Clinton Height Fire Department and fell in love with the job. About a year ago, Brittany lost her childhood best friend which lead her to an interest in emergency medicine. “I’ve met a lot of great medics and EMT’s along this learning journey, and have heard nothing but amazing things about E5 Support Services. I knew I wanted to be a part of this team, and I’m so grateful to finally be here!” Thank you for joining us, Brittany!
